    Description

"The Standard Monitor Or Freemason's Vade Medum" Compiled by Edward Cook, Grand Examiner, Illinois
    1903.  A. C. McClurg & Company
    Small Leather Bound Book, 3" x 4 1/4".  59 Pages
From the foreword  "... In form and arrangement it is similar to "Moore's Pocket Trestle Board" - but supplies much valuable matter omitted from that work.  In its compilation the aim has been to reject the superfluous -- retaining only such matter as is necessary to the perfectness of the actual ceremonies of conferring degrees and to so arrange this as to make it conform as nearly as possible to the standard work of this jurisdiction...."
Back cover made with flap that folds over the text pages and can fold to rest inside front cover.
    CONDITION:
Feels very fragile and I am handling it as little as possible.
Front fly-leaf has a small piece of the book's flap attached to it.  Text pages are crisp and clean with Gold Gilt on all three edges which is still surprisingly bright.
Cover has extremely heavy handling wear.  Much of the original leather is missing including much of the spine covering and you can see webbing and binding in the spine area.
    No smells.
