Somewhat worn at edges and at old fold but basically good & sound condition. Presentable.
item 7
(of 7) in this lot:
ca. 1910-1915 Atlanta Georgia Masonic Christmas card, sent out under the PRINTED (
not
autographed) signatures of the officers of the local Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge:
Charles E. Robertson
John Gilmore
David Manx
John R. Dickey and
Joseph Greenfield
Although printed in Christmas colors of red and green (as well as black) and illustrated with some secular symbols of Christmas like candles, holly, Poinsettias and Christmas trees in the snow, the card uses the term "Holiday Greetings" rather than "Christmas Greetings," presumably because Masonic Lodges often had a number of Jewish members. All 3 colors appear to be engraved rather than printed.
Old fold, some soiling but still very nice and presentable. Would frame up nicely for an Atlanta Masonic collector or a collector of unusual Christmas cards.
LOT OF 7 Atlanta Georgia Masonic pamphlets from ca. 1910 thru 1926
