Description
This is was worn by my great, great Aunt in 1890's. Her daughter wore it once in 1946. Has been stored since. It is very delicate.Black lace skirt cover overlay is intact but very bottom edge of lace is pulled in spots. The waist is held together by a frail string. There are flowers and vine design and scalloped edge. It is @ 42" L.
The top is beautiful with its lace and beads. Some beads are missing. I do have some saved in a baggy. It closes with hooks. Some are missing. The left sleeve hem is unraveled alittle. The measurement from shoulder to wrist hem is 23" and 17" flat measure from each underarm. It is 21" from the neck to the front bottom point.
The heavy satin skirt is 40"L , the waist is 12"(24") flat measure! There is a eye hook closure. There is a heavy wide lace ruffle on the bottom hem. The ruffle measures 13" wide. This is very old and for the most part is in great shape but the satin skirt has some tears. All could be sewed and it looks as one time 2 places were mended. The lace does cover all flaws.
I did not wash or mend it. Its a beautiful piece. A part of history! I would guess the size is a 2/4. Please use my measurements. This is sold as is.
