This dress is absolutely exquisite. Very wearable. I expanded the waistline a bit by picking out the pleats for a few inches on both sides and loosening them a bit, then adding a bit more linen backing and sewing them back down. This alteration isn’t noticeable in my opinion, and makes it much more wearable than it was (unless you are very, very tiny!). Over a hundred years old, with exquisite embroidery and lace. Sheer. A couple of very minor stains that may come out, but aren’t very noticeable. A truly incredible piece of history, so romantic and lovely!
