Antique Victorian Edwardian Gibson Girl Gathered Pigeon Breast Camisole Corset Cover.

DESCRIPTION:
A true time capsule from the height of the Gibson Girl era that has well withstood the test of time.
A very pretty, well gathered, pigeon breast style corset cover/ camisole for the popular S-bend figure.
Soft & smooth cotton, shows very little wear if at all. Closes down the left side on a button placket.
I've looked hard & held to light the cotton but am not finding any
holes or imperfections.
Crochet yoke is in impeccable condition & not finding any breaks in the brides.  All trim is intact.
Seamstress left a section under each underarm untrimmed.
Seams are tight & unstressed.
Most probably as with time, the trim would only
fray & fall apart due to constant movement in that area.
Here original woven silk ribbon is still intact within the upper yoke of camisole.
Crochet yoke has another row
of larger holes woven in to accept another ribbon.
Some stray fray threads here & there. Her only faults are truly minor. See below.
CONDITION & REMARKS:
Excellent, Museum Condition. Very little wear.
Buttons down left side with 4 mother of pearl buttons.
1 button is missing.
Larger Button on band has a small chip missing. Some fray stray threads that will need a clipping.
Possibly a faint odor from cupboard storage. If I have missed something, it is because I cannot see it.
