painted enamel tin sign, not REAL as naive collectors, dealers or some crooked claim. Shown in the first four photos ONLY.
This is not a standard size sign, but just 6" by 17¾", same as most or many common fake new "Man-Cave" reproduction signs like this one. A few tiny rub marks from storage, barely noticeable. Day One gloss and shine,as a NEW sign should be!

I NEVER thought in my 44 years collecting antiques that I would eventually be spending so much time giving "Free Education", but glad to help!
This one has the back painted WHITE.
I have the other same one but with the back painted GOLD. Both are FAKE, and a FANTASY size item. Some even attempt to make these look old by beating them to chip paint, scratching front or back, soaking in water, and then burying them to try to have some rust or "aging" appear at least in spots. Then they try to sell them as from "the 1960's"! However, a huge flaw in that theory.
Vernor's dropped the apostrophe from their name and signs by 1959! There is NO way this sign is from the 1960's, let alone the 1950's as the design would make it be. If people could feel the flimsiness before buying, they would understand it is a new lightweight fake.
They NEVER made original old signs like this with either a white or gold painted back. Signs like this in the 1950's or 60's had a green or mottled grey/green back paint, as anyone with a couple years experience in signs knows. Just an easily duplicated fake design, without paying attention to the details of the originals, such as size, color, and weight.
The last four photos show some of my Vernor's items: a recipe folder, a real 10" by 30" 1950's heavy steel kick plate door sign which they took this design from, and this fake pictured with the fake porcelain "Ande Rooney" "Detroit Skyline" sign also being sold on ebay right now.
