This is a wonderful framed fossil fish. It is a beautiful Phareodus testis from Wyoming. This distinct specimen has excellent detail preserved - the bones and fins are well preserved, and even the backbone is intact and visible, which is unusual. This predatory fish had large teeth for feeding, and these teeth are EASILY seen on this specimen. The colorful fish is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular matrix plate, which has been professionally framed for optimal display. This is a very affordable framed example of this extinct carniverous fish.
