This is a very unusual fossil fish plate. This slab contains a rare Amphiplaga brachyptera and a large
Knightia eocaena from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. These fossil fish are well articulated and exhibit fine detail. Both fish have great dark color and striking contrast and are well showcased on the very large, unbroken plate of shale matrix. This is an extremely uncommon specimen of two different fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
