This is a beautiful plate of fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. There are THREE very distinct fish preserved on the plate (two Knightia eocaena and one Diplomystus dentatus). All of the fish display very well. The distinct fish have nice, dark coloration, and the contrast with the cream-colored matrix is just outstanding. The striking fish are naturally showcased on the large, aesthetic plate of shale - and
one Knightia is partially laying on top of the Diplomystus, which is pretty cool!
This is a very fine display plate of three fossil fish from the
Fossil Lake Deposits of Wyoming.
