Bindings - Fully adjustable
The Natural Instinct skis are a great ski for beginner to intermediates looking for a great deal. This ski is 75mm wide which means that it's intended for mostly groomed runs and it has Head's Era 3.0 technology which helps this ski turn with little effort. The NI men and women all-mountain skis have a textured topsheet graphic that will prevent scratching and chipping with a bright blue graphic that will be pretty easy to match with a binding. This ski does not come with bindings included, but we have handpicked a few compatible options in the drop-down menu below.
Composite Core:This ski features a composite core, which has a softer flex and is lighter weight than wood cores. Junior, entry level, and sometimes even women's models have this type of core to make skiing more enjoyable, and less work.
UHM C Base: The most durable, quickest base material on the market. It requires very little maintenance and allows your skis to do what they are made to do until you decide you've hit so many rocks that it needs a tune.
East Coast All Mountain:A newly defined category for skis that could be generally described as eastern all mountain skis or western groomed run skis. This ski should be mostly carving on groomed runs but can handle the occasional powder and crud.
Textured Surface:Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces (aka snakeskin topsheet) are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.
Cap Construction:The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.
Era 3.0 Rocker/Camber:Head combines Rocker for flotation in soft snow, a progressive radius for better edge contact and grip, and shock absorption to dampen vibrations.
Tip Protectors:Plastic protectors on the tip increase the durability of the skis and reduce the likelihood of a delamination. Your tips are the most likely edges to get cracked, keep 'em safe with tip protectors and your skis will last for a long long time. If the tip protectors get damaged, it is not as big a deal as if it were to happen to the actual skis themselves.
