I can see Jane Austen in a dress like this, toiling over one of her classic novels...outstanding example of an earlier "Wales" label and what's interesting is the tag reads "for Laura Ashley" with some illegible printed text at the very top of the tag that I cannot make out.
Regency style dress with a high empire waist & prominent puff sleeves...old-fashioned cream cotton groundcloth accented by small tan calico flowers, interspersed with tiny polka dots...neckline and sleeve hem trimmed in dainty cotton lace...
