    Description

This is a unique tool, the form used in blacksmithing and tinsmithing. It came out of the Gold Country in California near the town of Jackson. It is,I believe, made from cast iron dating from from the 19th century. It was not made for the ground, but most likely to be inserted into the hardy hole of an anvil. Or, a similar hole in a work bench. It is large and in excellent condition with age metal pitting. It measures 28" long and the stake is 11". It weighs 14lbs. No breaks in the metals nice form. Exceptional workmanship in this piece. I pack carefully and try to get the best prices on shipping. Not interested in making  money on shipping, just getting it to you safely. The Ebay calculator is obviously off on is shipping calculator for this 14lb piece.
