    Description

    This is a Rare Large Piscacara
    liops
    fish fossil from the infamous Wyoming Green River Formation! The fish is in excellent condition, complete with pristine spines!
    The specimen measures 4.75 x 2 inches (fish) and 7.25
    x 4.75 x .2 inches (rock). Aside from uncovering the fish there is ZERO repair or restoration!
    The Green River Formation is a world-renowned fossil bed known for its abundance of Eocene freshwater fish. Most fish that are found are 3 inches or less from the Knightia genus with larger species being much rarer. Priscacara is an extinct genus of lake perch, two species lived in the Green River Formation, liops and serrata. Liops is the smaller of the two, reaching a maximum length of about 6 inches! A magnificent piece of natural art that displays beautifully anywhere!
