zoom in on
photos carefully
as they are part of the description. I am human and sometimes miss a thing or 2, but I
try to mention the book's main faults
. all of my books are VERY OLD and have 100+ years of wear to varying degrees
good to very good condition.... for its age [ 154 years old]:
boards -
very secure, a few small bubbles to the front cover plus a line of discoloration [barley noticeable] - picture #10 / back cover looks nearly perfect with just 2 light and small spots and a tiny, tiny, amount of light scuffing bottom corner area
textblock
- pages very secure
outer joints
- pretty good, no splits but some waviness picture #11
spine ends
- pretty good - curled with a bit of splitting
tips
- very good
inner hinges
- pretty good - someone re-glued the paper - see last picture - that's the front hinge, back one looks better
pages
- sporadic spotting throughout - mostly light - only about 10% of the pages have more spots than usual / very small and light water stain to the top margin of apx 40 pages or so - see picture #9 / 2 pages with a shadow - picture # 8

may have accumulated bad smells along the way [musty basement/ mildew/ smoke]
- I have found that
dryer sheets in them for a few months makes a world of difference!
some of my books get sold right away so
please consider using this trick before deciding to return it!
My nose doesn't work like it use to
so the old book smell doesn't bother me.
