    Ski Trab Gavia 85 Info:
Ski Trab is the best ski manufacturer you have never heard of (unless you frequent Skimo.co). The Trabucchi family has been building only backcountry skis in Bormio, Italy, below Gavia pass, for 74 years. Simply put, they live, breathe, and ski the snow-covered Alps their whole lives so it is safe to say they are passionate about their work. In the spirit of that passion they have created the Gavia 85 with all the design features of last season's
    Magico.2
at a friendlier price. A softer flex of 60 is ideal for lighter weight, or less aggressive skiers. Of course, the Gavia still has Ski Trab's incredible 14 Layer Technology; under the Quadriaxial Cap made of carbon, basalt, and glass fibers they have started with a Liwood core. The Liwood core uses a mix of light wood and harder ash with air channels milled in to save weight, creating a damp, yet lively ski. Combined with the Liwood Air core the flex is softened just at the tip and tail, making for easier turning, but does not sacrifice edge hold when you need it. And to make sure things stay smooth, Trab uses a special elastomer above the edges to soak up vibrations. Put together, this makes a great all-around ski at a very light weight. If you are looking for a ski to last a long time, buy a Ski Trab ski. If you are wanting a ski for morning fitness laps at the local hill, fast touring, hut skiing, and even powder, get the Gavia 85.
High Density sintered base and 52 HRC edges are incredibly durable.
HighConnect, Trab's special 'bridge' connects and locks both edges into place.
DuoTail split allows the tail to flex, making turning easier and more precise.
Liwood Air core keeps the weight down without sacrificing torsional rigidity, or edge hold.
Updated idecut, increased rocker, and updated flex pattern make this lightweight ski easier to turn.
Ski Trab's high quality design and construction allow them to offer an unheard of 3-year warranty.
Plum Oazo 4 (2021/2022) Binding Info:
Sometimes, a binding is so well made and popular that the manufacturer has no choice but to make it again. Such was the origin of the
    Oazo 6
when skiers demanded that they be able to ski the
    Oazo
safely with a lower release value, and now popular demand has squeezed yet another iteration of the Oazo family out of Plum. Introducing the Oazo 4; a slightly less Oazoy Oazo than previous Oazos, but not lacking any of the Oazoness that makes an Oazo an Oazo. The Oazo 4 shares the same design with its stiffer spring-bearing siblings, sporting the same two riser heights (including a flat on ski mode), adjustable lateral release, and included crampon clips that support the effortless Plum ski crampons. The elongated heel piece is easy to rotate to the flat-touring position, though one of the risers also works as a race flap for extra speedy transitions. The fixed vertical release is tuned to around 4 so that lighter skiers can ski with confidence knowing that their binding will release when it needs to. Machined from a block of aluminum, the toe piece is equipped with Plum's "Too Facile" technology that makes entering the binding a breeze and the toe lever locks in and out with a satisfying click. If you are looking for a low release value binding that is packed full of functionality at a competitive weight, the Plum Oazo 4 is one of the better options available.

    Ski Trab Skins:
Ski Trab uses a unique Attivo fixing system to attach skins quickly and securely to its skis. Designed to be pulled with one hand from either the tip or tail, the skin fix consists of a metal clasp with a pull tab (tip) and a plastic knob (tail) that fit perfectly in custom notches on Ski Trab skis. The skins come in two flavors, mohair and mohair mix.
The mohair mix skins are an orange 65/35 blend of mohair and nylon that match up well with Trab's wood core skis: Sintesi, Libero, Altavia, Altavia Carbon, Altavia Light, Stelvio, Gavia, and Maximo.
The 100% mohair flavor of skin is Ski Trab branded and made for optimum glide, and pair well with the ultralight aramid core skis: Maestro, Maestro.2, Magico, Magico.2, and Mistico. Best of all, they are cut specifically for each model and length of Trab ski so you don't have to worry about finding the right size skin and trimming it to reveal just the right amount of edge. See the chart below to determine which skin will fit your ski.
