Matchlessantiques offers collectors and smiths this UNIQUE 50 lb. VINTAGE Blacksmith Anvil. I'm not sure of what company made this anvil, but quite sure it's vintage due to the construction. This anvil is made just like some full sized cast anvils that are forge welded at the waist and have a steel faceplate. The face has a radius of the sweet spot and it has the customary steel overlay found on most of the more popular cast anvils like Fisher & Norris. It has a cute profile and nice square feet. You can see the faceplate on both sides and heel, and the overlay on the horn. Under the base are some numbers cast in it, but I am not sure about the maker. Even though the pritchel hole placement is similar to a Badger, it doesn't have the reinforced section at the heel under the hardy hole. Southern Crescent has a wider finished section at the top of the face, and Samson has limited info available. But whoever made it, was no armature, it was made well and the quality is excellent. It has a hard face and great rebound. It would be great for small work on the bench. Please take a close look at the pictures. We are offering this anvil for with no reserve.
