Vintage 1940s Black Rayon Velvet Dress M.
1940s black midi dress has a pointed waist yoke with decorative buttons, gathers at the bust, and shirred sleeves with decorative buttons. There’s a side metal zipper and extra long ties in the back.
Condition
AS FOUND, attic find, I have not cleaned nor repaired. That being said, its in structurally good condition, and the fabric is still sturdy and wearable. It has small seam holes at then back pits, and a cut/tear near the back hem. There’s a large seam hole the zipper down most of the length of the side skirt-looks like the majority of it can be stitched back up easy but with a bit of a more complicated repair at the ends near the hem and zipper- looks like it tore into the fabric a bit. There’s tear/repair in the sleeve seam, and the shirring stitch in the shoulder is coming unstitched.
