    Here is a vintage La Monte "Symphony Model" double french horn. This is a nice European made intermediate-level horn with a Conn 6D style wrap. This instrument is in good condition and plays well. The valves move well and the slides all move of course.
    As for the aesthetic condition of the instrument, there are a few small dings and pings as well as areas of light pitting, etching, and scratching throughout. The bell tail has some slight waviness from dent work. The bell engraving reads: “LA MONTE/ SYMPHONY/ MODEL.” All the imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of them affects the playability of the horn.
    This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This instrument comes with a somewhat worn hardshell case and a mouthpiece in good condition.
    How The Horn Plays: Full, warm and dark sound with a smooth, even tone. The horn is open and plays with good accuracy. All registers speak well and play fluidly across the range.
