Up for your consideration is a Vintage Heavy Duty Blacksmith Post Leg Stump Vise  6 1/4" JAWS
Measures approximately: 17"W x 40"H
Weighs: 117 Lbs
Marked on shank: "Wood Stourbridge, Warranted".
This heavy duty blacksmith post vise has a brass screw box (see photo # 10 & 11) which I have never seen before, but vise does need some work. For this reason, I am selling for parts or repair with no returns. Things I noticed, but may not be limited to;
(1). One of the keys on the brass screw box is broken about half way (see photos 10 & 11).
(2). The spring is cracked (see photo # 12).
(3). No mounting bracket.
(4). Vise does not open with spring assist possibly because there is no mounting bracket. There is gap between shank of fixed arm and keyed wedge (see photo # 5).
(5). The brass screw box is dented, but seems to tighten as should.
(6). Vise shows rust.
(7). Jaws on fixed arm is about 1/8" higher than jaws on moveable arm (see photo # 6).
I knock some of the rust off with a wire brush and sprayed/wiped down the vise with WD-40 to preserve the cast iron. No other cracks in the cast iron observed other than mentioned above.
