    Description

    Walter Herschel Beech [1891 1950] was a prominent aviation pioneer, industrialist and engineer who founder the Beech Aircraft Company. Beech began his aviation career in 1905 when he made his first flight in a glider of his own design. Beech was also a military pilot during World War I and after the war he served as a test pilot for the Swallow Airplane Company and in 1924 he became general manager of the company. In 1932 he along with his wife Olive Ann Beech founded the Beech Aircraft Company and designed many aircraft including aircraft which won the Bendix Trophy. During World War II he produced more than 7,400 military aircraft and his twin Beech AT-7/C-45 aircraft trained more then 90 percent of the U.S Army Air Force navigators and bombardiers and 50 percent of its multi-engine pilots for the war effort. Beech died in 1950 of a heart attack at the age of 59. Listed for auction is the autograph of Walter Herschel Beech signed on a card. The autograph is signed ''Walter H. Beech'' in black fountain pen and the card measures 5.00 x 3.00 inches. The card has trivial toning otherwise it is in fine condition and will be accompanied with its originally transmittal envelope.
